BRIGHTON -- At least 200 people gathered on Wednesday night to regret an 18-year-old transgender person who was apparently beaten to death last ...

can someone PLEASE help me find the answer to my Greeley, CO leash law suspicious?

I have called EVERYWHERE in this town and I can't seem to get an answer! My question: When you are outside of your residence playing with your dog on your OWN front yard (in the place of residence) does your dog have to be on a tether?

Q. Does Weld County have a leash law? A. Yes, Weld County has adopted an ordinance 14-4-20 that reflects the basic to keep your dog on your own, rented, or leased property. A dog is considered at large when not under the control of the owner, which means physical restraint of a tether or containing device. So unless you have a fence then YES
  • do you have a local spca office or local police non emergency # that you can call ? or have you constant them already? they would have the answer
  • Sorry, I don't have an answer for you either. Since you have called everywhere, are you sure you have called your local animal control dept. in your burgh? If you live in a small town, you might want to call your county bldg. I know, if it were me, I would keep the dog on a leash if I didn't know the law. If that dog unprejudiced so happened to bite someone walking or riding a bike past your house, and they decided to press charges, I'll bet someone in that city would know the leash laws, then. Better safe than sorry, not only for your protection, but for your dog's. greeley co justin rapp
