How much miles can one get from a Buick LeSabre?

The answer to this question is very functional for me as I am thinking of buying a 1999 Buick LeSabre. I know a Honda and a Toyota can go upto 250K miles and a Lincoln can go even more, but how much can a Buick LeSabre go upto? What are the salt problems found in a Buick LeSabre and is it very expensive to repair those? When should the timing/engine belt of a Buick LeSabre be changed and how often should the oil be changed? Any text of advice will be greatly appreciated.

Well maintained with regular oil changes. . .250K is not unheard of.
  • Very reliable car. The only problems with these is the diet gasket leaking (about $400.00 repair) once it is repaired though it has no further problems. We have them come into the shop with 200,000 + miles all the stint. They are a great road car. They even get about 30 MPG!!! Change the oil & rotate the tires every 5,000 miles and enjoy propulsion a comfortable American car that gets no attention from the cops. It is a good buy, go for it!!! Do be sure to have a BUICK DEALER look over the conduit before you buy it. If this costs you $100.00 it is a wise decision, beware the bad cars/sales people of the world... do your part to underwrite your happines with the vehicle.
  • Any car that hasn't been regularly maintained can be a pile of junk no matter what make and model it is. Who knows? Perhaps the oil, coolant, transmission fluid, brake fluid, power steering fluid, and associated filters have never been prepared. Or worse yet, the used car dealer finally changed them one time and steamed cleaned the engine just before he sold you the car. Even with beautiful maintenance, expect the transmission to fail before 150,000 miles. And what about collision damage? Can you tell if its ever been in a major mistake? How about a nice new Toyota Corolla? buick enclave backup assist
